Alison works with milk producers to achieve just that, identifying what product and regime is best for each individual need. She helps dairy farmers achieve all available revenue streams from their milk, particularly from low cell counts and low bacteria counts, without the excessive use of harsh chemicals.

Alison’s focus has always been to promote hygiene as the foundation to mastitis control.

“This is even higher on the agenda now, with the more stringent hygiene standards and drive for a reduction in antibiotic use”, says Alison.

During her lengthy career with Diversey, Alison has seen the development and launch of many products, from pre and post udder hygiene, CIP and parlour hygiene, to bulk tank, biosecurity and environmental hygiene products.

“Although I think they’re all great products, the foaming pre milking teat disinfectants are a real stand-out for me. They have a big impact on teat hygiene, they are easy to use, low in use rate and remove bacteria and dirt easily without impacting on the milking throughput. Deosan Triathlon impressed me the most as it has impressive exfoliation qualities promoting soft teat skin,” says Alison.
