Deosan Dairy Farming Hygiene Solutions

Meet the Team Behind the Solutions

Malcolm Carrick, Deosan Dairy Hygiene Specialist, United Kingdom.

Malcolm has been a Deosan Dairy Hygiene Specialist for 35 years, having previously milked cows and worked in animal feed sales.

Malcolm advises dairy farms of varying size – from 40 to 1000 cows, and a variety of breeds including Holsteins, Friesians, Ayrshires and Channel Island breeds. He believes that the UK climate and landscape is ideally suited for grass and milk production, with many of his clients operating an outdoor grazing system.

Malcolm is particularly proud of the high levels of stockmanship British farmers demonstrate in caring for their animals – “the high levels of care towards livestock is high in the list of priorities for them, so my advice and guidance takes this into account.”

Working closely with milk producers across the UK, Malcolm’s goal is to help all customers achieve the highest standards of hygiene. “Ultimately, higher hygiene standards mean higher milk price, so that’s the aim.”

The correct chemical dosage is also important, so not only does Malcolm advise on which chemicals to use for individual circumstances, he also supports dairy farmers by advising on the correct dosage and dilution rates – an important element that is often overlooked, whether it is over-usage costing dairy farmers more than it should, or under-usage which does not do enough to reduce bacteria levels.

Malcolm is proud to work with the Deosan brand in the UK, knowing he is making a difference to the long-term future of dairy farmers’ businesses and that the products he recommends will work effectively.

“Deosan product formulations, for every purpose and use, will get a farmer out of trouble and keep them in the top milk hygiene bands, securing their contracts with milk processors. This means I have done my job correctly and I am immensely proud to play a part in this.”
